Hyderabad, Sep 22: Ridwan Ghazi, who was arrested on September 21 in connection with the August 25 twin blasts here, had reportedly confessed that he was an activist of Harkat-Ul-Jihadi Islami (HUJI), the organisation believed to be responsible for the explosions and also the May 18 Mecca Masjid blast.

According to police sources today, Ghazi said he tried to garner support for and spread Jihadi activities. He acted on instructions of Musuliuddin, an alleged HUJI activist and his former roommate who had been absconding since the twin blasts.

'The accused said Musliuddin provided funds to him for purchasing a motorcycle. He used to visit Madarsas and minority colleges to lure Muslim youth into Jihad.

Ridwan also admitted to procuring fuel to make petrol bombs. He was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by the local court yesterday.

Meanwhile, the City Task Force Police arrested 14 persons of Bangladesh nationality at the Secunderabad railway station, under suspicious circumstances last night. Police were questioning them to find out if they were involved in the blasts.
