Puducherry, Sep 22 (UNI) AIADMK State Secretary A Anbazhagan MLA today demanded an inquiry by a sincere police officer into the complaint lodged by Woman Councillor Aanandalakshmi alleging AIADMK workers had assaulted her.
Addressing the press here today, Mr Anbazhagan said the case was foisted against party workers and MLA Om Sakthi Sekhar had already sent a letter to senior superintendent of police stating that the entire incident was stage managed and the councillor herself had inflicted injury on her arm and it was done at the instigation of DMK Convenor R V Janakiraman.
Police also had registered cases without proper investigation, he claimed.
He also demanded action against councillors, who prevented the municipality employees from attending their work during an agitation.
Several people could not get burial permission because of the agitation by the councillors who locked up the municipality office and the government should shoulder responsibility for it, he said.
Ridiculing Chief Minister N Rangasamy for ''failure to implement schemes announced in the Assembly'', Mr Anbazhagan said hitherto the Chief Minister was throwing the blame on the Chief Secretary and unable to bear the humilation, the official had voluntarily got transfer to some other state.
He wondered whether all the announced schemes would be implimented now.
Alleging that the government had given tender for dredging the sea mouth for Rs 2.5 crore and the party which got the tender received the payment even without executing the work, Mr Anbazhagan pointed out that presently the sea mouth was not navigable because of the accumilation of sand hindering fishing activites here severely.
The government should take immediate steps to desilt the sea mouth by procuring dredger from other states, he said.
