Lahore, Sep 22: President Pervez Musharraf"s lawyer Sharifuddin Peerzada has said that the Supreme Court (SC) decision on the President"s dual office case is likely to be announced on Tuesday.
AK Dogar, appearing on behalf of the Lawyers Forum, completed his arguments on Friday, while other petitioners continued presenting their cases.
He argued that every soldier took oath under the third rule of the Constitution and Musharraf had violated this oath.
Meanwhile, MMA President Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Liaquat Baloch and Hafiz Hussain, alongside various workers, staged protest outside the SC and reiterated that the APDM would resign from the assemblies if Gen Musharraf attempted re-election.
Leaders addressing the crowd vowed all opposition parties would resign from the National Assembly and provincial assemblies if the Election Commissioner accepted Musharraf's nomination papers.
"Al-Jihad! Al-Jihad!" chanted the charged crowd. "Bring down the crumblings walls (of military rule)", the Daily Times reported.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad reiterated that the All-Party Democratic Movement (APDM) would resign from the assemblies on President Pervez Musharraf"s attempt to get re-elected.
