Ranchi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Centre will address the long-standing issue over cadre division and distribution of assets betwen Bihar and Jharkhand, said Union Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrashekhar here today.
Addressing a press conference, Mr Chandrashekhar said he would talk to the Union Home Ministry and other concerned Ministries and try to find out the reason behind the delay in the division of cadres and distribution of assets between the two states.
Mr Chandrashekhar, leading a high-level Central team to review the progress of various developmental schemes of all the departments in the state, said he would try to solve the issue as soon as possible.
Earlier, Mr Chandrashekhar called on Chief Minister Madhu Koda and the latter expressed dismay over the inordinate delay in cadre-division even seven years after the carving out of harkhand from Bihar.
The team included Ms Renuka Vishwanathan (Secretary of co-ordination), Subhash Pani (Rural Development), T Nandkumar (Food and Civil Supply), S Nayar (Welfare Secretary) and others.
Insurgency, roads, NREGA, R&D schemes, rural electrification, drinking water and sanitation and healthcare were some of the major issues, which figured during the review meeting.
