Bucknor, Dar to stand as umpires in India vs Aus ODI series

Cape Town, Sep 22 (UNI) West Indian Steve Bucknor and Aleem Dar of Pakistan have been appointed field umpires for the seven-match ODI series between India and Australia starting later this month.

Bucknor will stand along with an Indian umpire in the first four ODIs while Dar will officiate in the last three along with a BCCI-appointed umpire. Englishman Chris Broad will be the match referee for the whole series, an ICC release said.

In November when Pakistan tours India, Billy Doctrove and Ian Gould will officiate in the five-match ODI series with local appointments.

In the following three-Test series, Simon Taufel, Billy Doctrove and Billy Bowden will stand as field umpires with each standing in two matches.

The match referee for this Test series will be Sri Lankan Ranjan Madugalle of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.

The ICC also announced umpires and match referees for the upcoming Test and ODI series in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Australia.

Meanwhile, former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath has been appointed match referee of the five-match ODI series between England and Sri Lanka next month.
