Bhopal, Sep 21: Tight security has been put in place here in view of the three-day BJP national executive committee meeting, which begins here today.
At least five IPS officers and two dozen DSP level officers have been deputed for security at the conclave site - named after party veteran Kushabhau Thakre - and different hotels where nearly 233 delegates are staying.
Vehicular movement around the state BJP office had been prohibited and diverted as part of the tight security arrangements for the BJP stalwarts, including many provided with Z plus security.
Vehicular traffic would be halted during the journey of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and senior BJP leader L K Advani through the city roads. He is scheduled to stay at a heritage hotel in the Shyamla Hill area.
The state party head office- Deendayal Parisar- has been specially decked up for the crucial meet, while the lake city had been decorated in a befitting manner with saffron flags fluttering along main roads and welcome arches erected at vantage points.
Cut-outs of top BJP leaders have also been erected at some places.
Barring former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, who is not attending the meet due to health reasons, all top leaders of BJP, including party chief Rajnath Singh and former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, are attending it.
