Sunita Williams interacts with school children

Gandhinagar, Sep 21 (UNI) Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams today met students from the School for Excellence at Nardipur village in this district and named the model of a space shuttle made by children as ''Space Shuttle Nardipur''.

''When the Atlantis space shuttle was landing, all of you had prayed for my safety and well being. All your prayers were answered and I thank all of you profusely for that,'' She told the students.

''Though I don't know Gujarati, I know the language of love,'' Sunita, who looked visibly overwhelmed by the warm welcome accorded by Nardipur villagers, said.

Sunita has an old relationship with Nardipur village. Her grandfather Narmadashankar Pandya and his sister had stayed at the premises of Hatkeshwer Mahadev Temple in Nardipur village.
