Special summary revision of photo electoral rolls

Shimla, Sep 21 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Manisha Nanda, said here today that special summary revision of photo electoral rolls for all Vidhan Sabha Assembly Constituencies of the State would be conducted with January 1, 2008 as qualifying date.

She said that as per the programme, draft electoral rolls would be published on November 12, 2007 and would be available in the offices of Electoral Registration Officer/Assistant Electoral Registration Officer besides all polling booths for public view.

She said that claims and objections could be filed from November 12 to November 26, 2007. She said that the electoral rolls would be read out in Gram Sabha/Local body meetings for verification on November 18, 2007. Special campaign would be undertaken in all polling booths on November 24 and 25, 2007, she added.

She further said that claims and objections would be disposed of from November 27 to January 6, 2008 and added that electros rolls would be finally published on January 7, 2008.

She said that information regarding electoral rolls was also available on the website 'http://ceohimachal.nic.in' and voters could ensure their names.
