Passenger held with empty cartridges at airport
Chennai, Sep 21 (UNI) A Dubai-bound Thai Airlines flight got delayed by about ten minutes and tension prevailed at the Anna International Airport here today as one of the passengers was found carrying empty cartridges in his baggage.
The airport security was scanning the baggages, when they received ''explosive alert'' signal from the baggage of a Dubai-bound passenger Jonathan Hardin (22).
As he pleaded ignorance, the security personnel opened the baggage to find three ''Speer 38 spl'' type bullets, which were empty.
On questioning, the youth said his friend in Thailand had given the empty cartridges as a gift.
The security officials, after obtaining a letter from him, allowed him to fly to Dubai and handed over the cartridges to the Airport police.
