Chandigarh, Sept 21 (UNI) Pakistan Pakistan Cricket Board officials today expressed satisfaction over the arrangements at the Punjab Cricket Stadium, describing them as '' world class''.
"We are fully satisfied with the playing and other facilities available here for the one-day international cricket match to be played between India and Pakistan in Mohali next month," Pakistan Director Cricket Operation Zakir Khan told media persons here.
He was accompanied by Superintendent of Police, Lahore, Suhail Khan.
"The purpose of our visit is to make review the facilities and hold discussions with the police about the arrangements. Mohali is the second home for Pakistan cricket team after Lahore. We will submit our report to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and also to the Pakistan Cricket Board," said Mr Zakir.
''As I have played cricket, I can say the facilities here are very good," he said.
''We have visited Kanpur and Gwalior and their next stoppage will be Guwahati before visiting Mumbai, Bangalore and Jaipur. India and Pakistan will play three Tests and five one-day internationals in India'', he informed.
Asked how many Pakistan cricket fans were expected to visit Mohali to witness the ODI on November 8-9, Mr Zakir said "the matter is under consideration. Lots of fans from Pakistan are always willing to watch the match between India and Pakistan in Mohali.'' On security arrangements, Mr Zakir said, ''We had talk with the Punjab Police officials.'' Mohali SSP Ranbir Singh Khatra was present on the occasion. PCA treasurer GS Walia and CEO Brig (Retd) G S Sandhu held discussions with Zakir Khan and Sohail Khan.
Earlier, Zakir Khan and Sohail Khan visited Hotel Taj in Sector 17 Chandigarh to see the staying arrangements for Pakistan team.
The PCA has undertaken massive renovation and additions to the stadium and the club house.
