PAC constable dislocates shoulder at weightlifiting event

Varanasi, Sep 21 (UNI) A Provincial Arms Constabulary (PAC) constable today dislocated his shoulder while competiting at the UP Police Games Weightlifting event at the district stadium here today.

Anil Kumar, a constable of 11th PAC Battalion (Sitapur), successfully lifted 110 kg in the first attempt of snatch, but while attempting to lift seven kg more in the second attempt, he fell down with the weight laden rod consequently dislocating his left shoulder, official sources said.

He was rushed to the district hospital where the doctors detected a dislocated shoulder following which necessary treatment including a heavy bandage around the shoulder was administered to Anil, sources added.

Two events of the UP State Police Games -- Boxing and Weightlifting -- are being organised at the meet which concluded tomorrow.
