Manager of cooperative society arrested for taking bribe
Chandigarh, Sept 21 (UNI) A manager of a cooperative society was caught red handed by the Haryana Vigilance Bureau while accepting bribe from a farmer.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that Maan Singh, manager of Apex Nahoni Cooperative Society, Ambala was caught red handed while accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 2000 from Jarnail Singh, a resident of Tharwa village of Ambala district in lieu of releasing a cheque of Rs 20,000 for agriculture loans.
The spokesman said that a case had been registered against the accused under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in the Bureau's Police Station at Ambala. He said that further investigation of the case was in progress.
