Karunakaran demands CM's resignation over ISRO deal
Thiruvananthaputam, Sep 21 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party Leader K Karunakaran today demanded setting up of a two-member tribunal, to examine all aspects of the ISRO land deal.
Addressing newspersons here, he also demanded the resignation of Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan who was ''primarily responsible'' for the present state of affairs.
One of the members of the Panel could be a senior judicial officer and the other an administrative officer, Mr Karunakaran said.
Sharing that ISRO's hands in the affair were clean as no less a person than its Chairman G Madhavan Nair, who had said all norms required in such purchases had been strictly adhered to by the space agency, Mr Karunakaran said it was the role of the state government authorities in facilitating the deal with an estate owner.
Mr Karunakaran further said it would be better if Mr Achuthanandan himself quit rather than pressing for resignation of any of his Cabinet colleagues.
