Govt offices should change into centres of development: Tiwari
Vijayawada, Sep 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor N D Tiwari has called upon Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) and Tahsildars to live up to the expectations of people and turn their offices into 'centres of development'.
Addressing a meeting organised to give away the ISO 9001:2000 Certificates to RDOs of Krishna District here last night, he urged the RDOs and Tahsildars not to confine themselves to maintaining land records under their jurisdiction.
As the officials working at the ground level, they would have direct rapport with people, and hence they could become agents of development.
He asked the officials to work hard for empowerment of women, child development and poverty eradication.
Mr Tiwari also suggested the officials to make concerted efforts to develop the Backward and te most backward areas in their respective districts.
