Delhi truck owner slapped heavy penalty for not paying VAT
Gurgaon, Sep 21 (UNI) The Excise and Taxation department has imposed a penalty of Rs 2.32 lakh on the owners of seven trucks which were caught carrying wheat bags without paying VAT.
The wheat was being sent to Orissa from Delhi in the trucks without paying VAT on entry into Haryana, according to the spokesperson of district administration.
The trucks, owned by a Delhi-based trader, were caught near village Harsaru in District Gurgaon by the team of Excise and Taxation Department, he said.
