Patna, Sep 21 (UNI) The Bihar Congress today demanded that the Nitish Kumar government convene an all party meeting over "deteriorating" law and order situation in the state.
Chief spokesman of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) Prem Chandra Mishra told newspersons here that incidents like shoot-out in Patna civil court premises, lynching of ten people at Rajapakkar in Vaishali district and dragging of a petty thief by police with a bike in Bhagalpur had proved that the law and order situation had hit all time low.
Assault of journalists by employees of a private mall in Patna recently was an ample indication that none was safe in Bihar, he noted and described it as an attack on democracy.
He said the situation in the state had worsened so much that it went beyond the control of the Chief Minister as he failed to improve it despite his sincere effort.
'' It appears that the Central government would have to intervene if the situation does not change in Bihar, '' he remarked.
