New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) Former Research and Analysis Wing operative Maj Gen (retd) V K Singh has been booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation under the Official Secrets Act, CBI sources said.
Maj Gen (retd) Singh's book 'India's External Intelligence, Secrets of Research and Analysis Wing' had caused alarm in the corridors of power.
He has been booked under Section 5 of the Official Secrets Act which pertains to wrongful communication.
The CBI conducted raids at his residence at Palam Vihar in Gurgaon, the sources said, adding that several 'incriminating documents' were recovered from the house.
The raids on his residence come close on the heels of the publication of Maj Gen Singh's book which stirred a huge controversy and generated extreme reactions.
An officer of the Signals Corps, General Singh was on deputation with RAW when India was engaged in Kargil conflict with Pakistan.
RAW had played a crucial role in intercepting Pakistani communication network as proof of the neighbouring country's explicit involvement in the Kargil intrusion.
