New Delhi, Sep 21 (UNI) It was another warm and humid day in Delhi today with the mercury rising to 37.3 degrees C, three degrees above normal.
Though cool Easterly winds and light rains towards the evening did bring some respite from the humid conditions witnessed in Delhi since the last few days, the maximum today rose to 37.3 degrees C, from 36.8 degrees C yesterday.
Though clouds hovered on the skyline, Delhiites continued to swelter under hot and humid weather conditions for the third day in succession.
Earlier, in the morning, the minimum was recorded at 27.5 degrees C, three degrees above normal.
Relief from warm and humid conditions is likely soon in Delhi with rainfall and thundershowers forecast in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India begining this weekend under the influence of a mid tropospheric westerly trough.
''A mid-tropospheric westerly trough is likely to cause scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Northwest India from September 23 to September 26,''weathermen said.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with likelihood of thundry activity or light rain in a few areas.
