Itanagar, Sep 20: Arunachal Pradesh police arrested the wife of a top ULFA leader here on Tuesday, police said today. They said acting on a tip-off from Asom police after the arrest of Prabal Neog, a top ULFA commander on September 17, police arrested Ranu Das.
On interrogation, Ranu said she was the wife of a top ULFA leader, who is presently in Myanmar. The woman had obtained a fake inner line permit (ILP), issued by the DC at Naharlagun in September, 2006.
Prabal Neog, the mastermind behind the massacre of Hindi-speaking people in Assam, had informed the police about Ranu.
