Three undertrial prisoners escape from jail

Balasore, Sep 20 (UNI) Four Bangladeshis, undergoing trial for committing highway robberies, today escaped from the Balasore jail after scaling the boundary wall.

While police managed to arrest one Arif Khan, Babu Khan, Arshadulla and SK Zahid were still at large.

Police said all the four were part of a six-member gang and involved in seven highway robberies. Police arrested the six hardcore criminals on May 30 following meticulous planning and effort after they committed highway robberies and assaulted several passengers.

Police said a massive manhunt had been launched to nab the absconders.

Of the six, Bausa Khan and Md Abu Basar are still in jail.

The criminals, all of them in their early twenties, hailed from Hamidi village under Baang police station of Faridpur district in Bangladesh.
