Hyderabad, Sep 20 (UNI) The Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today demanded the Andhra Pradesh Government to increase exgratia to Rs three lakh for the next kin of deceased in the heavy rains that lashed since four-days in the State.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Naidu said the exgratia of Rs 1,00,000, announced by the Government, would not solve the problems of the deceased families. Additional help must be provided to the families of the victims.
Demanding that the Government waive the loans taken by the farmers, whose crops were badly damaged in the rains, the TDP supremo said the Government should also supply seeds with 90 per cent of the subsidy and purchase the damaged paddy at market price.
Calling on the TDP leaders and workers to stop the Government from the auction of Government lands, he alleged that the police were foisting cases against the opposition leaders and workers, who were staging dharna against the sale of Government lands.
Mr Naidu alleged that the Government was acquiring lands from poor farmers at throw away prices and selling them to the Corporate companies for benefits.
