Taj to be closed on Sep 29 due to commonwealth members' visit

Agra, Sep 20 (UNI) The 17th century monument of eternal love and passion, Taj Mahal, would be closed for public view on September 19, following the visit of almost 750 Commonwealth members.

According to administrative sources, Taj Mahal, historical Agra Fort and Fatehpur Seekri would be closed for public view to provide unprecedented security cover to the Commonwealth delegation.

The Taj would be shut from 9000 hrs to 1100 hrs in the morning, and 1345 hrs to 1500 hrs in the afternoon.

The Agra Fort would be closed from 1000 hrs to 1240 hrs and 1450 hrs to 1640 hrs, while Fatehpur Seekri from 9035 hrs to 1200 hrs and 1320 hrs to 1620 hrs.

The members would visit the city through a special train from New Delhi. Owing to the recent terror attacks aboard trains, the commonwealth members would be brought to the city under tight security cover. The train would follow the Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh route. The CSF in strength would be deployed in all 11 coaches of the train, Railway Security Force senior divisional commissioner Pankaj Gangwar told UNI here.

After admiring the exquisite craftsmanship of the wourld famous monument Taj, the members would visit the historical Ara Fort and Fatehpur Seekri. They would later return to the national capital, he added.
