Rupee takes another leap, opens at 40.06/08/USD

Mumbai, Sep 20: The Rupee took another leap of about thirteen paise against US dollar as compared to the previous close of 40.20/21 per dollar and opened firm at 40.06/08 per dollar today.

The local unit further made a firm start against the US dollar in the morning session and continued moving up in a volatile foreign exchange market. Currently Rupee is trading at 39.94/95 per dollar at 1045 hours, dealers said.

The dealers also opined that the Indian currency is expected to gain strength further, as there was continuous selling of dollars in the market.
