Plant for disposal of Slaughter House Waste
Chandigarh, Sept 20 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh took another step for scientific disposal of Municipal Solid Waste with its nod to the project for setting up of a Bio-Methanation Plant for disposal of slaughter house waste and meat market waste of 3 TPD capacity.
According to an official spokesman, the project, allotted to Sun Technics Energy System, Banglore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sun Technics GmbH, Germany, would result in scientifically disposing off the entire Slaughter house and meat market waste.
As a by-product approximately 18-20 K.W.H. of power or 6 cylinders of 19 kg. of fuel/Gas would be generated and used for running the modernized animal slaughter house. In addition, high quality compost would be available to the council.
The slaughter house and meat market waste, being dumped along with garbage will not be disposed off in the landfill site.
The Municipal Corporation is planning to set up a Bird Slaughter House (BSH) and this Plant will be able to take the entire waste from BSH as well.
