Mysterious woman robs ex-MLA's house

Chennai, Sep 20: A woman robbed the house of a former MLA a PMK(Pattali Makkal Katchi) member,of 100 sovereign gold jewellery and Rs one lakh in cash in Kodambakkam area of the city.

The incident that happened yesterday at the house of Former Cheyyar MLA Ulagaratchagan caused panic in the area.

The politician's 47-year-old wife Ambika was alone in the house when the woman pushed and gagged her and ransacked the almirah before decamping with the booty as Ambika was lying unconscious.

The moment Ambika opened the door on hearing the bell, the woman barged her way into the house, bolted it from inside.

''It all happened in a flash'', Ambika later said.

Hearing her cries, the neighbours came to her rescue but by that time, the woman had escaped.

Three special teams have been formed and a search had been launched for the mysterious woman.
