Lawyers to abstain from works tomorrow in Bihar

Patna, Sep 20 (UNI) Taking strong exception to shoot-out in the premises of Patna civil court premises in which one prisoner was killed and three advocates sustained serious injuries, lawyers of Patna High Court and all other courts through-out the state would abstain from their works tomorrow.

President of the Bihar branch of bar council Rajendra Prasad Singh told mediapersons here that all advocates through-out the state would paralyse the judicial works to express solidarity with their colleagues, who sustained injuries in the shoot-out incident.

He alleged that the Bihar government had failed to maintain law and order and common man was feeling unsafe during the present regime.

'' The shoot-out incident in Patna civil court premises is an open testimony to the fact that law and order situation had deteriorated all time low'', he maintained.

Mr Singh said the future course of action would be decided at the emergency meeting of the association on September 22.The advocates of Patna High Court and several other courts abstained from their works in protest against the incident during the second half of the working hour today.
