Land revenue official caught taking bribe
Chandigarh, Sep 20: A 'girdawar' (revenue official) was caught red handed by the Haryana Vigilance Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 3000 from a farmer.
The 'gurdawar' identified as Balwant Singh was posted at Kanina in Mohindergarh district. He accepted the illegal gratification from Kartar Singh, resident of Bhala village in lieu of preparing the map of land partition.
While stating this here on September 20, a spokesman of the Bureau said that a case had been registered against the accused under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in the Bureau's Police Station at Gurgaon. He said that further investigation of the cases was in progress.
