Chennai, Sep 20 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and veteran BJP leader L K Advani today paid a left-handed compliment to DMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in relation to his statement that Lord Ram never existed and he was just a myth.
''It is not rationalism. A secular state does not mean an anti-religious state as pointed out by one of our great philosophers and former President S Radhakrishnan'', he observed at a press conference.
''In fact, I respect atheists and also the atheist in Mr Karunanidhi. But holding a high Constitutional post as a Chief Minister, he should not be saying what he has been on Lord Ram'', Mr Advani observed.
He also charged that no government of any country in Europe or in any Islamic world would say that Jesus or Prophet Mohammed ever existed.
''In India Hindu bashing is considered as secularism. This is wrong and should not be done. The philosophy of theism only says 'Nar Narayan' meaning that God should be seen and worshipped in human beings'', he said.
Mr Advani also sought to point out that even in the United States atheists don't pour venom on theists.
