HC refuses premission of closure to two colleges in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 20 (UNI) While refusing permission to close down two colleges from Andheri -- Sheth L U Zaveri and Sir M V College and Sir Chinai Colleges, the Bombay High Cour today ordered their mangement to continue the colleges till students admitted in both the junior colleges complete their courses.

While deciding cross petitions filed by teachers, students and management of both the colleges, a division bench of Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice D Y Chandrachud also directed the Director of Education to decide expeditiously upon the application filed by the management for closure. The court has directed the teachers to the College Tribunal.

The teachers and students of both the colleges had moved the court after the managing body of the colleges had issued closure notices to the teachers on July 13 this year. The managing body had followed suit and filed cross petition justifing its decision to close down.
