CTCME-2007 in Kozhikode from Sep 22

Kozhikode, Sep 20 (UNI) Eminent Cardiac surgeons from various parts of the country are expected to participate in Cardiovascular- Thoracic Continuing Medical Education (CTCME)-2007, beginning here on September 22.

Hosted jointly by private-sector healthcare major Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) and Indian Association of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS), the two-day event would have case presentation by Post Graduate students to an expert panel, a release here said yesterday.

Besides, this year's CME would focus on a 'vet lab', where the young surgeons would have the opportunity to get trained by experienced surgeons in common operations by doing them on animal heart, it said.

Prominent surgeons who had confirmed participation were from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, Sri Chithra Institute, Thiruvananthapuram, Amritha Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, and MIOT Hospital, Chennai, the release added.
