Lucknow, Sep 20 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to take up the long pending 71 infrastructure development projects in the state which had already made cost over run by Rs 5400 crore.
The government, in the first phase, has decided to take up 37 such projects where 80 per cent work is complete. Now these projects will be completed by March 31,2008.
Chief Minister Mayawati ordered completion of these project in time after the matter was raised in the state Cabinet meeting this morning.
These projects are being delayed since 1978 with the oldest one is the Saryu irrigation project.
Ms Mayawati also said the cost over run by the projects due to delay in their completion certainly affects the all round development of the state.
The CM also constituted a high level committee under the chairmanship of chief secretary for fortnightly monitoring of these projects.
