Warm, humid conditions in Delhi, mercury rises to 37.2 deg C

New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) Sunny weather prevailing in Delhi over the last few days persisted today with the mercury rising to 37.2 Degree Celsius, three degrees above normal.

After a pleasant weather over the last week, warm and humid conditions returned to the Capital city today even though clouds enveloped the Delhi skyline towards the evening.

The maximum temperature rose to 37.2 Degree C, from 37 Degree C yesterday. The minimum also increased to 27.2 Degree C, from 26.5 Degree C yesterday.

Some relief from the sunny and humid conditions could be in the offing by the weekend with the weathermen forecasting some rainfall and thundershowers in Delhi and other parts of Northwest India towards the weekend under influence of a mid-tropospheric westerly trough.

''A mid tropospheric westerly trough is likely to cause scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Northwest India from September 22 to 25,''weathermen said.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with rain or thundershowers likely in a few areas.
