Bangalore, Sep 19 (UNI) Police have arrested three people and seized stolen article worth Rs 30 lakh, City Commissioner of Police Neelam Achutha Rao said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he claimed to have solved more than 30 cases with the arrest of Manja, who had gained nick name Parivala Manju (Pigeon Manju) for using Pigeon for his criminal activities and his two associates Appu alias Suresh and Narayana Swami.
Mr Rao said that Manju, a habitual offender involved in many criminal activities. The accused used to leave Pigeon on houses and on the pretext of collecting it he would enter and steal articles.
He was sending the stolen articles to Narayanaswamy, resident of Madavasi in Tiruvannamalai District of Tamil Nadu and to Appu, a local resident for selling and from the money received he used to lead a luxury life.
Manju, who was involved in more than 30 criminal cases, had served jail term from 2004 to 2006. After release he used to change his residence frequently and continue to commit crime.
Mr Rao said that Ashok Nagar Police have arrested two teen aged boys who were committing theft and robbery in Robertsonpet in Kolar District and recovered stolen articles, including gold ornaments, foreign coins and silk sarees, all together worth Rs 1.25 lakhs.
He said that their four associates are absconding and search is on to nab them.
