Rajasthan Assemby adjourned for 40 minutes following noisy scenes

Jaipur, Sep 19 (UNI) The proccedings in the Rajasthan Assembly were adjourned for 40 minutes today following noisy scenes staged by rebel BJP MLAs, demanding a discussion on the ''police atrocities'' on the Gujjars during their reservation agitation.

Expelled BJP MLA Prahlad Gunjal was on his feet demanding the suspension of the question hour as it commenced and demanded a discussion on the police atrocities during the Gujjar ST Quota reservation agitation. He was supported by suspended BJP MLAs Attar Singh Badhana, Surendra Singh and Lok Jan Shakti Party MLA Ranveer Singh Guda.

Speaker Sumitra Singh adjourned the House for 40 minutes as her repeated request to the members to maintain the decorums of the House was unheeded.

Parliamentary Affairs minister Rajendra Singh Rathore and Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria intervened by saying that the government would reply to the demands, provided the members raise the issue according to the procedure.

Following the noisy scenes the Speaker adjourned the house on 1120 Hrs to be reassembled at 1200 Hrs.
