Nikkei opens up, extends gains over 2 pct after Fed
TOKYO, Sep 19 (Reuters) Japan's Nikkei average opened higher and quickly jumped more than 2 percent on Wednesday, led by Advantest Corp, tracking strong gains on Wall Street following the Federal Reserve's rate cut.
As of 0008 GMT, the benchmark Nikkei was up 406.39 points or 2.57 percent at 16,208.19. The broader TOPIX index climbed 2.5 percent to 1,548.43.
