National Mission for Manuscripts to conduct survey in Goa
Panaji, Sep 19 (UNI) The National Mission for Manuscripts, under the Union Ministry of Culture, will conduct a 15-day survey of handwritten manuscripts in Goa from tomorrow.
The Mission will document the manuscripts, over 75 year old, with artistic, historical or scientific or literary value so that the data collected is made available for educational and research purpose.
The authorities had constituted four district coordinators and 50 college students as surveyors for the purpose, according to official sources.
The Mission, constituted in February 2003, develops database on manuscripts, trains conservationists and manuscriptologists, publishs rare manuscripts and spreads awareness among the masses.
