Monks march again in restive Myanmar city
YANGON, Sep 19 (Reuters) At least 2,000 Buddhist monks staged a protest march in the restive Myanmar city of Sittwe today, a day after soldiers fired tear gas and warning shots to disperse a similar demonstration, a witness said.
''At least, two thousand monks are marching very peacefully, just chanting prayers and holy scriptures. No slogans, no demands,'' one witness told Reuters.
Several thousand ordinary people watched the march in the former Burma's northwest, but were told by the monks not to join in, the witness said.
