Ahmedabad, Sep 19 (UNI) The All India Democratic Students' Organisation is organising a state-level programme at Sardarbaugh to mark the birth centenary year celebrations of Shaheed Bhagat Singh on September 26.
Students from different schools and colleges will present songs, drama and cultural programmes on the occasion. Students, who have won the inter-school revolutionary song competition, will also be felicitated and awarded, All India DSO secretary Bhavik Raja told reporters here today.
A photo-exhibition ''Mera Rang De Basanti Chola'' on the freedom struggle and a books sale will also be organised on the occasion.
Mr Raja said youth from Gujarat will attend the September 28 rally at Ferozshah Kotla ground where Bhagat Singh and his comrades had formed the HSRA party. A memorandum woyuld later be presented to the Prime Minister, he said.
Mr Raja rued that history books presently in the syllabus, do not contain proper depiction of the life, struggle and thoughts of Bhagat Singh. The DSO has demanded that statues of Bhagat Singh should be erected in each and every city in the country as well as in the Parliament House. The organisation has also demanded the release of a stamp depicting Bhagat Singh on the occasion of the birth centenary year.
