CPI(ML) holds rally to demand inclusion of workers in BPL list
New Delhi, Sept 19 (UNI) Demanding immediate enlisting of all unorganised sector workers and the poor in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) list, the CPI(ML) today held a rally and a mass meeting to press the government on the issue.
The rally also demanded that the Centre increase the allotment quota of the Delhi Public Distribution System so that the poor may benefit from it.
Later a party delegation met the Food and Civil Supplies minister Sharad Pawar and apprised him of their demands.
This, they said, was a move to guarantee food security for all, specially the poor and weaker sections of the society.
