New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) Hundreds of students of a women's college today marched in protest against charges of molestation by aspiring policemen.

Shouting anti-Delhi Police slogans, the agitated students of Indraprastha College demanded stringent action against those who allegedly molested at least half-a-dozen girls on September 16 during a police recruitment test in Civil Lines area.

Even as the recruitment process was on, some of those who had come for taking the test accosted the girls in the vicinity of the college, said an angry demonstrator.

Seeking 'safety for women' around the college campus, protestors demanded cancellation of the recruitment process by the Delhi Police until an inquiry into the matter was completed.

The girls held the march from their college to the office of the Vice-Chancellor at the Delhi University campus. Students of other colleges also joined the protest to express their solidarity with the agitators.

The girls wondered if tomorrow's policemen behaved like this, how could a civil society repose its trust and faith in them.

On Sunday, at least five girl hostellers were allegedly molested on the busy Shamnath Marg by some men who had come for the Delhi Police recruitment test.

There was no police security in the area, the girls alleged. They said when they went to the Morris Nagar police station to lodge a complaint, cops refused to register it.
