New Delhi, Sep 19 (UNI) Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly Prem Singh today denied having received any Action Taken Report on the CAG and the PAC reports on the privatisation of power distribution in the Capital city.
Asked by mediapersons at a press meet in the capital as to why ATRs on the CAG and PAC reports were not tabled in the State Assembly during the just-concluded Monsoon Session, the Assembly Speaker said,''we have not yet received the ATR. As and when it is received, it will be tabled in the House.'' We operate as per the rule and regulations. From my side, after the PAC and CAG reports were tabled in the House, I send them to the Lt Governor for further action. It is for the Government now to file an Action Taken Report.'' Refuting reports that the ATR had been received by him, Chaudhry Prem Singh said,''if the report had been received by me, I would not have written a letter to the Lt Governor in this regard.'' The speaker expressed satisfaction over the work done during the six day long session, which concluded yesterday.
''All the items on the agenda were taken up,''the Speaker said.
The Speaker said a total of three government Bills were introduced and passed during the session - the Delhi Fire Service Bill 2007, the NCT of Delhi Bed and Breakfast Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Bill 2007 and the Indian Stamp (Delhi Amendment) Bill 2007.
Apart from this, five Committee reports were presented in the House, including the 13th Report of the Business Advisory Committee and the Tenth report of the Committee on Private Members' Bills and Resolutions.
