Islamabad, Sep 19 (UNI) Pakistan Muslim League (PML) Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said national and provincial assemblies will be dissolved if President Pervez Musharraf is not re-elected from the incumbent legislatures.

Pakistan's private Online news agency quoted him as saying this in Islamabad last evening.

Criticising the opposition's behaviour, he said opposition parties always did politics on the issues and the uniform was not an issue at all.

Mr Hussain said the government will accept the decision of the nine-member bench of the Supreme Court where Jamat-e-Islami has challenged holding of the dual-offices of President and Army Chief by General Musharraf.

The assemblies would be suspended if the Supreme Court declares President Musharraf ineligible for presidential election and further, a suitable candidate was not available for the top slot, PML chief said.

The PML and its allied parties have enough votes to re-elect President Musharraf from sitting assemblies, he added.
