Jammu, Sep 19 (UNI) An Army jawan, who went missing while on leave last month, was found murdered by his lady love and her paramour at Billawar tehsil in this region, police today said.
Solving the murder mystery of an Army soldier, namely Mohammad Hafiz of 16 Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI), police said the missing jawan, who disappeared from a hotel in Jammu where he was putting up while on leave, was found murdered by a woman and her paramour.
''The police team investigating the missing case, reported on August 30, got a clue from the mobile of the soldier. Investigators traced the last caller on phone who happened to be a woman, namely Kamla Devi, wife of Anchal Singh of Chhaliyan Ramkote in Billawar tehsil.
''During the interrogation, Kamla Dvi revealed that she and her paramour had executed murder of the army jawan,'' SSP Parminder Singh told UNI.
Kamala Devi had developed illicit relations with Mohammad Hafiz, resident of Mendhar (Poonch) when the latter was posted at Chhaliyan Ramkote area.
However, after the transfer of jawan, Kamla Devi got another lover in Surinder Singh of Ramkote.
When Surinder Singh came to know about the relations of Kamla Devi and Mohammad Hafiz, he planned the murder of the soldier in connivance with his lady love.
As per planning, Kamla Devi invited Mohammad Hafiz at her residence late evening on August 23 and served him tea mixed with sleeping pills. When the soldier fell asleep, Surinder Singh, who was there, hit hard on his head, killing him on the spot.
Thereafter, duo buried soldier's body in the nearby fields, the SSP said, adding, ''On Kamla Devi's disclosures, Army jawan's body was exhumed.'' The woman was sent to the police custody while her paramour Surinder Singh was still at large, he informed.
