5 injured in stampede at Tirumala
Tirumala, Sep 19 (UNI) Five people, including a woman, were injured in a stampede during the 'Garuda Seva' procession, as part of the nine-day-long Brahmotsavam, at Lord Venkateswara temple today.
TTD sources said there was a heavy inflow of pilgrims to witness the 'Garuda Seva'.
The stampede occurred at VIP entrance gate, when the pilgrims rushed to see the procession.
The injured were admitted to a hospital in Tirumala, the sources added.
