Hyderabad, Sep 18 (UNI) Whirlpool Corporation, a leading home appliances company, today announced its venture into water purifiers market, while expanding its portfolio into new categories to woo its target group 'The Indian Homemaker'.
Unveiling its range of ''Purafresh'', what it claimed as Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Purifiers with unique '6th Sense Purify and Protect Technology', the company said it was targetting 25 per cent of the Rs 350-crore RO Segment in the year.
The speciality of the Whirlpool's patented ''6th Sense'' technology is evident in several unique features of Purafresh, which makes it the only RO system in the market that ''promises to go beyond purificiation and continues to protect the purity and freshness of water till the last drop you drink''.
Speaking at the launch, Mr Tamal Kanti Saha, Vice President, Sales, Whirlpool of India, said, ''with the launch of our Reverse Osmosis Water Purifiers, we are offering our consumers a product that not only purifies with its advance 6-stage purification process; but also protects the purified water through its air tight storage tank and its unique silver ceramic cartridge.'' It was also claimed to be the ''first'' Indian RO to meet the stringent quality standards of the Water Quality Association, USA.
Purafresh had undergone testing for Indian water conditions, including flouride treatment, through a leading water analysis lab in India.
Initially, the three-product range was launched in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh and the pan-Indian footprint would be in a year's time.
