Chennai, Sep 18 (UNI) "ORRA", the diamond destination and pioneers of spiritual jewellery in India, today launched its tenth spiritual collection.

Talking to reporters at the launch function here, ORRA Corporation Communications Manager Sunanya said the collection, "Raksha Taveez", launched by eminent astrologer Pandit Kaliyur Narayanan, was based on the deep rooted tradition of amulets and talismans to ward off evil and bring good fortune.

Based on religious scriptures and other historical literature, the collection had been designed under the guidance of renowned archaeologist A P Jamkhedkar.

''It features spiritual motifs like Ganesha, Rudraksha, Krishna, Mahalakshmi, Shiva, Hanuman and for the first time a special piece --Allah Zamin--dedicated to the Islamic tradition, and Navagraha Bhushana, containing nine gem stones corresponding to nine celestial planets,'' she said.

The pieces were adorned with precious stones like rubies, emeralds, pearls and pure Belgian diamonds, combined with other materials of traditional significance like rudraksha, tiger stone, coral and Navaratnas.

The price ranged from Rs 9,000 to Rs 15,000, she said.

''ORRA has been at the forefront of design innovation in jewellery. With the spiritual collection, the main objective is to increase awareness on spirituality. The collection is extremely special as it is not limited to any one religion and highlights the concept of amulets, that have been a part of the Indian tradition since time immemorial'', she said.
