Governor inaugurates Vedic conference
Shimla, Sept 18 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje inaugurated a vedic Conference organised by Aadi Shankar Sewa Samiti and Indian Heritage Shimla Unit on the occasion of Mr Kanchi Mahaswamigal Panirohan Shatabadi function at Tara Devi near here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kokje said, "Himachal Pradesh is the land of saints, and old traditions are being observed now also. The State is known for its rich culture all over the world." He said that that there were many temples in the State and added that refresher course in Pooja Methodology was being started in temples in order to ensure proper methods of Pooja besides adoption of uniform pattern.
"Sanskrit is mother of all languages and can provide employment to many. Western countries are also showing interest in the language," he said.
Earlier, Governor offered prayers at Tara Devi Temple and participated in the 'Havan Ygaya'. He also visited 'Sanskrit and Science' exhibition.
