Lucknow, Sep 18 (UNI) Power department employees and engineers have decided to organise a state-level conference here on October 5 and prepare for strikes, if privatisation of Anpara C is not reversed.
The day-long 'satyagraha' by power department employees here concluded today with the announcement of the conference date next month.
The presidents, general secretaries and senior office bearers, besides employees of allied organisations of the Power Employees Joint Action Committee participated in the 'satyagraha'.
Prominent among these, included Shailendra Dubey, Sandeep Pandey, Chandra Prakash Awasthi, Girish Pandey, Sadhruddin Rana, Mayank Mangalik, Akhilesh Kumar Singh, Alok Sinha, Parushram, Badruddin, Shambhu Ratan Dikshit, H N S Rathore and Bhagwan Mishra.
Decision to privatise Anpara C had already delayed the project by 10 yrs, the committee leaders said.
''Even now if the project is handed over to Utpadan Nigam, the power tarrifs would be cheaper in UP,'' he claimed.
He further said Anpara C is an extension of Anpara A, B, D and I, which are with Utpadan Nigam, thus it is wrong to hand over Anpara C to private hands.
