Ferozepur, Sept 18 (UNI) In an operation conducted last night, BSF jawans seized 15 kg of heroin worth Rs 15 crore in the International market from Chak Kheeva village near International Border (IB).
BSF Deputy Inspector General V K Sharma today said that a BSF party of 20 Battalion was on routine patrolling along the barbed fence near Chak Kheeva village falling under Fazilka sadar police station, when they noticed some movement near the border. On being challenged by the BSF, Pakistani smuggler and his Indian counterpart, who must have come to collect the consignment, escaped under the cover of darkness leaving behind the consignment. While searching the area, the BSF recovered 15 packets containing one kg of heroin each.
The officials said that this was the third cache of huge quantity of heroin recovered by the BSF near the International Border from this area.
