Tendulkar keeps Tuesday date with Sunfeast Open

By Staff

Kolkata, Sep 17 (UNI) Putting an end to all speculations, the organisers today confirmed that Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar will keep his Tuesday date with the Sunfest Open.

''Tendulkar will now come to the city tomorrow,'' an official statement from the organisers informed.

Earlier today, Indian Doubles Ace Mahesh Bhupathi had said Tendulkar is definitely paying a visit to Kolkata during the Globosports-promoted Sony Ericsson WTA Tier III event.

''Sachin will be certainly coming. May be he wont be able to come tomorrow because of his commitments with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). But I am sure he will grace the occasion once during the week long event,'' Bhupathi had said after his arrival here this morning.

Earlier the entire programme was in haywire with the sudden resignation of Rahul Dravid as the captain of Team India after which the BCCI sounded the Little Master with an offer for the post of Team India's captaincy and he has reportedly not declined the request.

Tendulkar is supposed to come here tomorrow and take part in an informal meet in the Millennium Park. Later in the evening he is supposed to have played fun tennis with Sania Mirza, Mahesh Bhupathi and another star player of the meet.
